Bricking

We had a bricker already to go over the Christmas break but unfortunately no bricks :( This meant it wasn't till mid Jan that the bricks were delivered and they just started bricking last week.

Most electrically has also been put in as well as the piping. It's pretty crazy how many wires run through your house, at least we now know where not to hang things in case we get a wire!

Our Shower bases have also been put in and the bath hobs :) We've been given May as a possible end date, so here's hoping that nothing too major comes up in the next stage so that we keep having a smooth build.

We have a roof :)

Our place looks so much more like a house now that it has a roof!

Frame Inspection

Once the framing was complete we once again got it inspected. Ryan mentioned something that came up in our discussion with our Inspector regarding water proofing of the upstairs bathrooms.

A few other minor things we're picked up in the inspection which have been rectified.

The corner of our alfresco slab was not framed correctly which resulted in the corner not being neat - this has now been prepared before the bricking started so that it would be neat.

On the south side of our slab the frame was not neat up against the slab edge which meant that there would not be enough gap for the cavity between the bricks and frame. This just meant that the top part of the slab had to be trimmed to the correct measurements.

The other main thing that was noted was that the pole holding up our metrebox was not encased in the slab. This meant that the builder had to come back and fill this gap in as it meant that the slab house was no longer termite proof with this showing.

Overall our Inspector was impressed with the level of work and the things that were picked up were rather minor.
